News Story

Redlands is currently lighting up the stage in the Festival Theatre, bringing the season to a close with a bang. Check out the epic photos and rave reviews from critics and audiences, plus get a peek behind the scenes of our press night this week. But remember, Redlands is only on until 18 October so you haven't got long to grab your tickets!

In the centre, two men in extravagant 1960s costumes - flowery flares and silvery satin shirts with ruffles - are giving an energetic performance. The man on the left is singing into a hand-held microphone with his right elbow bent and his hand on his hip. The musician on the right is also singing into his companion's microphone while playing a guitar. Behind them are two more guitarists and in the background are a number of large illuminated capital letters.

A marvellous show from director Justin Audibert. It has everything, drama, great music, fun and great performances.

Theatre Vibe

Wow. Surely the greatest-ever final ten minutes of anything that has ever been on the CFT stage. Brilliantly, blisteringly delivered. A spectacular CFT main house directing debut for CFT artistic director Justin Audibert

An undeniably enjoyable night out - a Jumpin’ Jack Smash of a show

Once again CFT reminds us what regional theatre is at its best – taking local stories from its community and spinning them into gold.

Three men stand behind a wooden desk on which is emblazoned the word 'Court', staring out to their left with shocked expressions. On the left, the man wears a shiny brown suit and tie; the other two men both wear barristers' legal dress and wigs. The older man in the centre wears glasses, and the younger man on the right carried a sheaf of papers under his arm.

A celebration of rock and roll rebellion. Jasper Talbot (Mick Jagger) and Brenock O’Connor (Keith Richards) excel in their roles, skilfully channelling the unique moves and charisma of their real-life counterparts.

The Spy in the Stalls

Mesmerising. An astonishing cast of actors who nearly bring as much energy to the stage as Jagger himself.

A riotous flurry of youthful energy, toe-tapping tunes and irresistible performances that should not be missed.

Charlotte Jones’ finale feels like the end-of-term party for the Chichester Festival Theatre. Anthony Calf is magnificent, Clive Francis is slam-dunk hilarious and almost gets cheered at every line, Emer McDaid, fragile graceful blonde, is a wonderful Marianne, she sings like a bird too. A fine professional debut from Louis Landau.

Audience comments

A group of people in brightly coloured 1960s-style clothes in shades of yellow, green, orange, purple and pink are dancing or posing against an orange curtain background, with the word 'Go-Go' spelled out in neon yellow lights.

Redlands is pure Satisfaction. Sublime storytelling with brilliant performances.
