Nathan Queeley-Dennis won the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting in 2022. Bullring Techno Makeout Jamz is his debut play, coming to CFT for just three days from 21 November, presented by Ellie Keel Productions and Paines Plough. Click here to visit the show page to discover more.

Writer Nathan also performs his one man play. His acting credits include Black Love (Kiln Theatre), Really Big and Really Loud (Paines Plough) and A Taste of Honey (National Theatre).

Born in Birmingham, he wrote the play as a love letter to his home city. Hear more from Nathan about his inspiration in the Meet the Writer video.

I think it's a rollercoaster of emotions, the main emotion being love!

The play follows Nathaniel, a young man on a journey of self-discovery. He explores Black masculinity through Beyonce lyrics, techno raves and the close bond a man has with his barber.

I always say the emotional journey of the character is very truthful. A lot of people at any point in their 20s have felt those feelings
