News Story

Have you seen what's hatching in the Festival Theatre Foyer? Our eggshibition has landed, and the online auction to go alongside it has officially opened. Here's everything you need to know.

One hundred artists have created their own individual, decorative egg. From Gavin Turk to Philip Jackson CVO, and Anne Desmet RA to Mariya Dykalo, along with competition winners from our Youth Theatre members and local artists.

This unique and free eggshibition is now open in the Festival Theatre foyer and you can also bid for your favourite at the online auction where all proceeds will go The Nest Appeal.

We are a registered charity and need to raise at least £1,500,000 by March 2025 to build a much needed third performance space to incubate creativity in our community, hatch new work in progress and nurture growing artists.

The Nest, a new creative space, is a major part of Artistic Director Justin Audibert’s vision for CFT to incubate creativity in the community, hatch new work in progress and nurture growing artists. The Festival Theatre and Minerva Theatre are world-renowned, but there is huge demand for a small studio theatre to offer a programme for a younger audience in support of Chichester’s night-time economy; to provide a base for the Emerging Artists Development Programme; and a space for CFT’s ever-increasing community programme. With sustainability at its heart, this 119-seater studio will have a thrust stage to match its sister theatres but sit nestled in the trees beside the Festival Theatre.

*Please note that due to October half term events, access to the Eggshibition on 28 and 29 October will be restricted between 9am - 5pm.
