About Drop In Workshop - Creative Writing
Creative Writing – Walk the Walk
Our monthly drop-in sessions are the perfect way to try out a new creative artform in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Come every month or as and when you can make it, each session is stand alone and low commitment.
Join author and playwright Jill Hucklesby for an informal creative writing session taking inspiration from CFT’s production of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. Participants will explore the power of journeys, both literal and personal. Memoirs of famous travellers, including Freya Stark and Sir Ernest Shackleton, will provide a light framework before Jill invites you to become adventurers and create new work in your chosen style.
The workshop will include a verbal story-building game, quiet writing time and the chance to share work with the group. All abilities welcome. Please bring pen and notebook.
When and where do sessions take place?
This practical workshop will take place in the Roddick Room in the Steven Pimlott Building, onsite at Chichester Festival Theatre, on Wednesday 11 June from 11.30am – 1pm.
Cost and Bursaries
Drop-In sessions cost just £10 per person. You can book your space in advance or, as the name suggests, you can simply drop-in on the day.
We believe everyone should have the chance to take part, so if cost feels like a barrier, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask about our bursary scheme. For more information, email us at leap@cft.org.uk—we’d love to hear from you.
